Recognising leadership and achievement

A Golden Totara newly planted on the lawn of Aquinas College in Tauranga, has extra significance for deputy head Terry Consedine. 

Placed to mark the Cognition Education Trust’s National Excellence in Leadership award presented to Terry at the end of 2014, the award and tree signify an educator of the highest calibre. Trust director Richard Jefferies says, “It is very heartening to meet a teaching professional so committed to bringing out the best in our students, and his record of achievement is outstanding.” The biennial awards programme was set up by the Cognition Education Trust and ASG Education Programmes New Zealand to encourage communities to publicly recognise their inspirational teachers and leaders.
