We are excited to welcome Begin Bright to the Cognition team
Global Education Company Cognition Education has announced the acquisition of Australian award winning education franchise, Begin Bright. Begin Bright focuses on creating happy, smart and confident children through school readiness and tutoring centres and has more than 30 centres throughout NSW, VIC, QLD & WA.
With the acquisition, Begin Bright is now accessing Cognition’s skills and experience to reach its goal of rapid growth throughout the rest of Australia and then to continue on internationally. Begin Bright’s CEO and founder, Tina Tower has joined the Begin Bright board and the entire management team will stay in place. “I am honoured that a company as resourced and experienced as Cognition has acquired the business that I started as just a dream” Tower says.
With operations and services in more than 25 countries around the world this is the third acquisition in as many years for Cognition and the latest of a number actively being pursued. Last year Cognition bought Wavelength, an award winning interactive learning solutions company and is now seeking further expansion through acquisition in the UK, Middle East and Asia.
Cognition Education Group CEO, Tina Lucas says “Cognition has been around for nearly 30 years and has built a strong reputation in New Zealand and the Middle East. However, our strategy going forward is to re-position Cognition as a global leader in the education market so that our products and services are impacting on positive education outcomes for millions, not thousands, of children and young people around the world. Lucas, re-located from the UK to the company head office in New Zealand earlier this year following successful tenures as CEO for Aspire Education and MD at Nord Anglia Education.
Since her arrival the company has rapidly re-aligned its business strategically to build on its key strengths and has identified a number of key markets for expansion. Lucas continues ‘Acquisitions such as Begin Bright not only bring new expertise and offerings to our portfolio but have significant opportunities for international growth in their own right. In the next couple of years we expect Begin Bright to grow to more than 300 centres with further operations in other parts of the world’.
